Looking for a great place to volunteer? Come be a part of the Travelers Aid Team at Union Station!
Union Station is the home to a group of committed volunteers who enjoy working in an intimate environment. Volunteers assist visitors who are looking for information, directions and sites to be seen in the nation's capital as they pass through Union Station on their way to explore Washington , DC and the surrounding areas.
Travelers Aid is looking to grow our volunteer team at Union Station in Washington, DC. We offer training, free parking and two daily shifts Monday through Saturday from either 9:30-1:30 or 1:30-5:30 and Sundays from 12:30-5:00. Each volunteer is requested to work 1 shift per week but you are welcome to do more.

Mission Statement
"To provide professional services to people who encounter problems beyond their control related to separation from home, family, financial, and social support systems." The Travelers Aid program at Washington Union Station began fulfilling this mission in 1912. Trained staff and volunteers offer support and guidance to stranded and distressed passengers, exploring all possibilities to safely help them reach their destination.
Description
The volunteers of Travelers Aid at Washington Union Station provide rail and bus travelers with information concerning the Washington metropolitan area. Our two professional social workers are also available to offer social service support to individuals and families encountering challenges in life as well as challenges in their travel plans.
Travelers Aid/Union Station is operated by Travelers Aid International and its services are funded by the District of Columbia and private donations. In 2016, the program assisted more than 212,425 travelers and an additional 1,325 social service cases. The 20 volunteers at Union Station gave 4,921 hours of service back to the community.
