Community Picnic at Midway Village Museum
Sunday, July 23rd from 11am - 4pm
The Victorian Village will feature an open house format with over a dozen buildings open for viewing, and a costumed interpreter will help you discover the secrets of each home and business. The Museum Center will also be open to explore the exhibits on Rockford’s history, and families can enjoy lawn games and craft projects for all ages!
The community is invited to either bring a picnic lunch, or purchase a tasty lunch from the grill at the village café.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to work either at the admissions gate or in our Town Hall assisting with food sales.
- Morning Shift: 10:30am - 1:30pm
- Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
This is a great opportunity to welcome families to this unique and FREE community gathering!

Welcome to the award-winning Midway Village Museum! The museum campus sits on a 148-acre campus conveniently located near I-90 in Rockford, Illinois. The museum is comfortably nestled among trees to create a beautiful ambiance at any time of the year. Our Victorian-era Village and Main Museum Center are centrally located on the campus within walking distance of each other.
