Part-time Office Assistant Description

Job Brief:

The Community Literacy Program at Erie Neighborhood House is looking for a welcoming and dedicated volunteer that is willing to work in the office from 5pm-7pm on weeknights throughout the year.

Orientation prior to starting will be provided and will detail office duties and logistic.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and direct phone calls

  • Relay any messages that are pertinent to those involved with the Community Literacy Program all while ensuring the confidentiality of participants and clients.

  • Able to complete common intakes and inform participants about the logistics of the Community Literacy program

  • Ensure all incoming participants complete a pre-test upon registration

  • Maintain Community Literacy participants and tutors timesheet and information using the organization software.

  • Match tutors and participants based on english level and hours of availability.

  • Ensure that the office space and files are organized and locked come closing time.

  • Plan and coordinate any meetings, conferences, and events that are in partnership with or from the Community Literacy department.

Requirements:

  • Must be available during the hours of 5pm-7pm

  • Must be available to volunteer at least once a week.

  • Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft
