Valley AIDS Information Network (VAIN) was established in 1989 and we provide prevention and educational programs in order to improve the publics knowledge around prevention for HIV/AIDS, STIs and Hepatitis-C in both Benton and Linn Counties, in Oregon.

We are currently seeking 2 volunteers for the Benton County area and 2 volunteers for the Linn County area. We are seeking dedicated and responsible volunteers to assist in our weekly Free Condom Distribution Program where we currently distribute over 2,000+ Free condoms per month in Corvallis at 24 distribution locations that include Bars, Restaurants and Community Based programs.

Free Condom distribution takes place weekly from 3pm-6pm on either a Thursday or Friday of every week, day is by your choice. Some locations only require us to stop once to twice per month. Volunteers will wrap condoms in printed label in preparation for distribution. Then volunteers will take condoms in your personal vehicle, public transit, walking or biking throughout a route in the greater Corvallis area. We will be expanding this program to more distribution points including new Linn County locations.

We offer unlimited growth potential in our small all-volunteer 501 (c)3 non-profit. We reached over 3,000 individuals last year through presentations by our Speakers in The Schools Program.

Come make a difference in your community by helping Valley AIDS Information Network provide tools for the prevention of HIV/AIDS, STI’s and Hep-C.

OUR MISSION IS TWO-FOLD: To prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and hepatitis-C by providing community education programs -and- To provide support to persons living with HIV/AIDS, their families and caregivers.

Description

VAIN is a wonderful organization that has been around since 1989. We were the first organization of this kind in our area during a time when so much was not known about AIDS. We deeply care for our community and the people in it. We also care for those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. This disease is still very prevalent in the world and the United States. Our goal is to raise awareness of this growing issue and help to educate the members of our community and our nation, this includes children.

As a volunteer you can expect to be a part of a great team that helps in planning community fundraising events, takes part in speaking events, and participates in informational tabling events. There are excellent opportunities to learn and grow in this organization. We want to help you succeed and we feel that this can be a win win situation. We strive to be an organization that our community can trust. We hope that you will join our team and help to bring us to the next level.
