FFR

If you have a passion for horses, then come on out to Fuzzy Faces Refuge at 9:30 am on any weekday morning Monday - Friday. This opportunity is for morning week day feeding only.

You can help with the morning feeding and habitat maintenance for the horses. You will also get to feed goats and rabbits each morning. Don't worry - if you love the idea but have no experience, we will train you. Or, if you have experience but have been missing being around horses, you will love this!

This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who loves animals AND:
- has a home school schedule with a teenager 13 years of age or older to volunteer with
- is recently retired but wants to stay active and give back to the community
- craves that horse smell and misses all that good nuzzling and loving
- is interested in the therapeutic benefits that come from just being around horses in the great outdoors
- is looking for something meaningful to do rather than just sitting at home
- needs community service hours or wants to learn something new

Fuzzy Faces Refuge is a 501c3 tax exempt charity based in Clayton, NC that serves individuals of all ages with special needs, including Veterans and First Responders.

About Fuzzy Faces Refuge

Location:

600 Ryans Lane, Clayton, NC 27520, US

Mission Statement

Fuzzy Faces Refuge (FFR) is a NC 501c3 non-profit that provides a sanctuary for endangered heritage breed farm animals where people of all abilities can interact safely with animals using positive, therapeutic experiences that build confidence, enable positive progress and afford opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable.

Description

Fuzzy Faces Refuge is dedicated to protecting and promoting endangered livestock and poultry from extinction to preserve our heritage for generations to come. As part of our education and conservancy effort, we offer opportunities for therapeutic interaction and adoption of the endangered breeds that we raise.

As a PATH International Member Center, and through our program Freedom Steps, we are uniquely situated to offer Equine Assisted Animal Therapy to the surrounding community. Our programs include providing equine-assisted activities and therapeutic riding for those who live with physical, emotional or cognitive challenges, or those enduring psychological and/or physical wounds, including children, adults, veterans and first responders.

FFR has a small petting zoo that the local community, schools and therapists can visit by invitation or appointment with their families, friends, students or patients. Get to know our resident fuzzy faces and enjoy the therapeutic value found within a serene farm setting.
