The Pine Hills branch is hosting Girls Who Code this fall! Do you have a strong background in computer science or information science? Do you have skills in programming with programs like Scratch and Java Script? Do you enjoy working with teenage girls? The branch is looking for a volunteer to faciliate the Girls Who Code program from 4pm-6pm on Wednesdays from the end of September to the end of October. This is a great opportuntiy for professionals in the computer pgramming field or college students with a strong background in the field. Come get experience, strenghten your skills, and give back to an awesome opportunity!
This opportunity can grant academic credit if that is of interest to the volunteer.

The Albany Public Library consists of 7 branches in the City School District; Washington, North Albany, Bach, Arbor Hill, Pine Hills, Howe, and Delaware. You can visit the 7 branches for books and DVDs, music and magazines, classes and workshops, computers and Wi-Fi, tutoring and tax assistance, arts activities and technology programs, study spaces and meeting rooms, movie showings and musical performances, book clubs and author talks, and so much more. Volunteering is vital to the health of the library and the community by providing much needed support to the youth and adults who rely on library services. Volunteers gain the skills and knowledge to help with their professional career and personal life. Student volunteers gain community service credit and valuable job experience.
