Loop Food Pantry Grocery Distribution

The Loop Ministries Food Pantry is open every Tues/Thurs between 10am-noon. We are seeking volunteers willing to start at 9:30AM to assist with set up.

Volunteers move pre-packed bags of groceries from the supply area to the distribution area, load them onto carts, wheel them to clients cars or loading area if they are walking or biking.

Depending on one's place in the "assembly line" this volunteer opportunity can involve carrying up to 20 lb. grocery bags short distances of several feet, lifting bags onto and off of carts, and wheeling carts outside in all Rochester weather conditions.

Despite the "normalization" of post-Covid life, hunger in Rochester continues to be severe, and your help is truly appreciated. Team comradery makes this an enriching time, tasks accomplished are very fulfilling, and the gratefulness expressed by pantry visitors for the food given is tremendously rewarding.

Mission Statement

Loop Ministries is a non-profit organization committed to helping people in and around Rochester's Inner Loop. We stock and organize a food pantry that provides groceries for people in need that is open 2 days a week. We participate in a monthly hot supper provided by Incarnate Word Lutheran Church where we distribute groceries at the end of the meal. We raise money and organize food collections to help us continue to provide these services.

Description

The Loop Ministries Food Pantry is open every Tuesday/Thursday from 10am - 12 noon. We provide bagged groceries to approximately 150 families every month.

Loop Ministries partners with Incarnate Word Lutheran Church which provides a hot supper on the last Saturday of every month. After the meal Loop Ministries provides a bag of groceries to each attendee.

We partner with Heritage Christian Services to transport food, stock our shelves, distribute groceries and provide job skill training to people with developmental disabilities.
