Steps to Success in Brookline, MA is looking for volunteers who are interested in planning our biggest annual fundraisiing event, the Step up for our Stars Gala. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know a local, community-based organization that could use your expertise in event planning, marketing and communications, and raffle/donor/sponsor solicitations. We're searching for volunteers who are passionate about our mission and can meet once per month as part of our Development Committee. The event will be held in May 2018 and is designed to raise awareness about Steps and our programs with Boston/Brookline area supporters. I hope to hear from you!

Mission Statement
At Steps to Success, Inc., we promote equity for students from low-income families in Brookline by expanding their horizons, building upon their skills, and supporting their educational journey in order to maximize their life choices.
Description
Steps to Success (STS) Inc. is a non-profit organization in Brookline, MA, founded as a public-private partnership to address the unequal academic outcomes of students living in Brookline's Public Housing. In collaboration with The Brookline Housing Authority (BHA) and the Brookline Public Schools, STS provides individualized academic support and comprehensive services to students living in Brookline's public housing. Starting in grade 4, STS works with BHA's students and families so that low-income students not only graduate but thrive academically in high school, matriculate in college, and obtain their college degree. We have a proven track record in narrowing the academic achievement gap between low-income students and their higher-income counterparts in Brookline. Each year, STS serves approximately 300 young people in Grades 4-12 and, through our College Success Initiative (CSI), serves an additional 80+ students in college or other post-secondary programs.
