Hi Everyone,

FreeFrom’s mission is to make safety affordable for survivors of violence and their families. One way we do this is through our small business incubator that helps survivors either expand their existing business or start a new business from scratch. We are using entrepreneurship as a tool to create economic justice for survivors who are often unable to enter the traditional workforce.

All our entrepreneurs are womxn, about 50% of them are currently living in shelter, most of them are mothers, 48% are Black Womxn, 41% Latina, 6% White Womxn, and 3% Asian Womxn. Our mission is to match each entrepreneur with a womxn entrepreneur/business owner with a similar background and business experience.

Business types that our entrepreneurs are starting:

  • Catering
  • Tailoring
  • Book Publishing
  • Non-profit
  • Flourist
  • Translation Services
  • Administrative Services

If you are interested, please respond with a short description of yourself/why you are interested in this volunteer position.
