They really like Bridge Bread!

The Bridge Bread Truck is a mobile Bake Shop that sells products made by our formerly homeless Bakers. We are primarily at the Tower Grove Famers Market but are also invited by area businesses, churches, schools and other organizations to come to their location for 2-4 hours. We no longer go to venues in the City designated for licensed food trucks.

The Tower Grove Farmers Market is open 8:30 to 12:30 every Saturday. Volunteers arrive about an hour early and stay about a half hour after closing.

This is a great way to have fun and meet other good people trying to make the world a little better place.

About Bridge Bread Bakery

Mission Statement

Bridge Bread is a social enterprise designed to provide job opportunities for people experiencing homelessness or those who are housing insecure. The goal of the program is to help the disadvantaged engage in a financially rewarding effort that enhances self-worth, promotes dignity and enables them to help themselves.

Bridge Bread seeks to empower people who have experienced homelessness to rebuild their lives with meaningful employment.

Our own Bakery is a highly successful social enterprise that demonstrates that people who have experienced homelessness are eager to work hard and can be valuable employees that earn decent wages. We are a hand up, not a handout to our Bakers. This promotes their self worth and accounts for our success rate.

We want to grow our social enterprise to employ more Bakers making and selling more products through more channels so we can provide further opportunities in all areas of a small business.

Working with social work and business school departments at local universities and with progressive businesses, we intend to find ways to replicate this success in for-profit businesses in many additional kinds of business.
