Summary:
The Video Game Guru helps to strengthen social, motor, and communication skills of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the use of an X-Box 360 gaming console. This position is open to any individual who has experience playing video games and who would like to use this hobby to teach skills to the individuals in our program.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interact with adults with special needs using an X-Box gaming console
Qualifications:
* Casual gaming experience with an X-Box 360 gaming console
* Ability to work patiently with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
* Good listening skills
* Desire to learn more about adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Requirements:
* Must be 18+
* Must pass a criminal history check
* Must attend a 45-minute orientation
Time Commitment:
2 hours per week

For nearly 50 years, MHMR Tarrant has improved the lives of people with health care needs, such as substance use, psychiatric disorders, and intellectual delays and disabilities. Using innovative approaches, MHMR partners with individuals and families, and collaborates with other community organizations to provide services and a hopeful future.
