Do you have a background or interest in environmental issues and/or education? Do you like working with students? The City of Federal Way’s Surface Water Management Division is looking for volunteers to help with the Storming the Sound with Salmon Release Event. The event takes place over the course of four days, serving over 1,000 students in the Federal Way School District. Students come to West Hylebos Wetlands Park for a day of experiential environmental education, where they learn bout the connections between salmon and water quality and release the salmon they've been raising in their classrooms into the Hylebos. Volunteers are needed as "class guides" to assist teachers as they lead their classes to different educational stations throughout the park, and to assist City staff with leading educational stations. Volunteer for one day or all four!
