A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all of them have features in common.

Why TEDxWomen?

As women, we are constantly faced with challenges in everyday life. Whether those challenges are with spirituality, family life, career, or everything in between, we are confronted with the dilemma of making everything interact harmoniously. To respond to this common thread, we are building a safe haven for women to be candid about the issues that matter through sharing our stories of triumph.

Rosemont is located in an area near O’Hare airport, thus being a place which could be considered an "international hub". With this level of exposure in mind, women of different cultures, experiences, and economic backgrounds cross path here everyday. Our goal is to create a meeting place for Rosemont women which will inspire thought provoking ideas which will help women conquer the many challenges they face being apart of such a thriving community.

This team member is responsible for raising money from sponsors for event expenses, and managing the event’s finances. They should be someone who has experience with fundraising and development, since this is one of the most important components of the event planning process.
