You can help save the lives of premature infants! Help us do this by answering phones, screening potential milk donors, checking in milk donations, assisting with processing of milk, delivering milk, running errands, and helping with administrative tasks. We are a small operation and our staff and volunteers must be able to do many tasks. This is a terrfic opportunity for high school seniors and college students to gain community service hours, for nursing or health related students to gain community hours. If you have between two and five hours to spare once a week, please contact us!

Mission Statement
The New York Milk Bank is dedicated to saving the lives of premature infants by providing them with safely pasteurized human donor breast milk. When mother’s own milk is not available, pasteurized human donor milk is the next best choice.
Description
We are a small non-profit milk bank located in Westchester County, NY. We are a staff of nine full-time and two part-time employees. We screen donors, collect breast milk, pasteurize breast milk, and dispense and ship pasteurized human donor milk to hospitals and the community. We are regulated by The New York State Department of Health and accredited by The Human Milk Bank Association of North America. We are committed to reducing health disparities and increasing awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and donor milk. We are seeking volunteers to knit, crochet, and/or sew baby blankets and/or hats so we can distribute them to families in need.
