The Grundy County Health Department/Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps is in need of volunteers willing to assist our clients who hoard with moving, sorting organizing and cleaning items to reduce the amount of items in their homes. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for our clients through a combination of mental health counseling from our counselors as well as organizing, clearing out, and addressing stress factors in decreasing clutter. We need professional, compassionate, caring, understanding, patient and physically capable volunteers to assist in our group of volunteers.
Our volunteers alongside our counselor and volunteer coordinator will work to assist the client in moving various items, boxes, trash or valuables. We allow the client and counselor to guide the pace and need to be understanding that the process can be slow and over multiple trips to clients home.
Clients we serve are in Grundy County, Illinois. We would need volunteers to have reliable transportation and can work with a variety of schedules.
All of our volunteers are subject to a background check and are required to sign and abide by the department HIPPA agreement.
