Without basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, telephone/email etiquette, and other general office operations, it can be challenging to be confident when seeking employment with businesses today. Avalon's new Supported Employment program participants could use a brush up on these general office operation skills, that's where you come in! As a General Operations Trainer volunteer, you will work closely with Avalon's Supported Employment staff to review a 30-60minute training session for 4-6 Supported Employment participants. A successful volunteer for this position will have a good working knowledge of general office operations and feel confident in their abilities to share that information with others.

Avalon Housing is a nonprofit real estate developer, property manager and services provider. We own and manage rental units in over 25 properties in Washtenaw County. We provide support services to our tenants and to individuals and families living in public housing and in units owned by private landlords. In total we serve more than 800 people, including 200 children.
