Home of Angels is non-profit organization geared to service our community of Special Needs Children and Young Adults. Our goal is to implement healthy living with exercise and social integration. This can not be possible with our the service, commitment and help for our community, volunteers and leaders.

Our vision is that one day every person will discover their power to make a difference, creating healthy communities in vibrant, participatory societies.

We request volunteers to attend:

Saturday morning Park Day: Every Saturday 9:30-12pm our Special Needs Angels join us for an exercise group session followed by social integrated activities.

City Parks Program: The program in partnership with the City of Alhambra, teaches Angels, special need individual, and provide adaptive exercise opportunities, including stretching, aerobics, basketball, and more. Led by a licensed Recreation Therapist, participants benefit from great social interactions, physical fitness, and hand-eye coordination.

- Summer Program: Saturdays | July 15, 2017 to September 16, 2017
- Fall Program: Saturdays | October 7, 2017 to December 9, 2017

GAP Program (Every Friday 3-5 pm): The Guardian Angel Program (GAP) seeks to bring together a "Circle of Friends," combined with a supported infrastructure that blends into community integration. In order to promote a lasting bond between our angels and community to foster true inclusion of special needs population, GAP provides the following services: * Instill basic social skills for Angels to navigate in the community. * Behavioral training in a social environment (i.e. restaurant readiness) * Greater exposure to community environments (e.g. restaurants, libraries and fire stations) * Expansion of an Angel’s circle of friends through different networks (peers, volunteers, other angels, etc.)
HOA Events: These occur 2-3 times a month and roughly gather 3-5 hours of service. Some of our Events consists of Bowling, Swim Day, Special Needs Teen Dance, Picnic and ballgame at the park. The events will vary depending on the season.

Commit in making a positive and impactful difference to our special needs community!

Mission Statement

We provide special needs children and adults with a supportive community, education, and professional/life training that empowers them to achieve 100% independence as they integrate into the community.

Description

Home of Angels (HoA) is a non-profit organization founded by parents with developmental disabilities children. Its mission is to provide an inclusive setting where these special needs people can call home. It would be self-contained with amenities necessary to provide quality life to this underserved population.

Identifying developmental disabilities early on is key to helping families get the help they need. Home of Angels’ is here to help provide information and resources to underserved communities, where diagnosis of developmental disabilities is delayed on average by two years.

By bridging language barriers , providing direct services, raising awareness and working with city officials, we hope to build a community where every person with a disability can reach their full potential.
