Maternal Child Health

The Maternal Child Health department includes Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and the Nursery, along with general Obstetrics and Gynecology. Volunteers in Maternal Child Health gain experience in multiple facets of Women’s Health, including preventative care and treatment ranging from newborn programs to post-menopausal services. Tasks for Volunteers in this area including greeting, transporting and comforting patients, lab and pharmacy runs, preparing cribs and beds, nurturing newborns, restocking supplies, and preparing admission paperwork. The Maternal Child Health Volunteers are an integral part of the program. Great opportunity for pre-med and pre-nursing students.
