Volunteers working in the Emergency Department get a first-hand look at the procedures and functions of a high-volume modern Emergency Department. Basic volunteer duties include comforting trauma patients, transporting patients, pharmacy and lab runs, helping to remake gurneys and beds, and restocking supplies. Excellent opportunity for those working toward a career in healthcare.

- 100 probation hours in non-patient care area i.e. information desk
- Approximately 3 month patient care experience in other Highland departments i.e. step down unit before transfer to Emergency Department
