Volunteers needed to help supervise at Summer Camp for Kids!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: IMPACTO

IMPACTO is a nonprofit after-school organization, located in the Boyle Heights community of East Los Angeles that serves 180 children K-12. During the summer however, we become a full day program for kids (kind of like a summer camp)! We run the program every day from 8:30am-4:00pm. We are looking for optimistic and enthusiastic volunteers who can offer their time this summer from either 9:00am-12:45pm or 12:15pm-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Volunteers should be people who are genuinely looking to make a positive change in a child's life. We are looking for volunteers to help with lesson plans, recess time, meals, and essentially just help us keep an eye on the kids! This is a rewarding experience in which you pass on your various passions to children!

We are in great need of volunteers to come help us in the afternoon to be an extra set of eyes with our kids during our lunch hour as well as helpful hands to assist in cleaning! Though our greatest need is during our lunch hour, if you would like to volunteer with one of our classes before and/or after lunch, we would love to have you!

IMPACTO is part of Proyecto Pastoral, an organization established in the predominantly Latino, low-income area of Boyle Heights. IMPACTO is the after-school program component, offering assistance at two different sites for grades K-12. We offer homework assistance and tutoring to our youth, as well as enrichment activities like art club, guitar lessons, track team, book club, story time, and many other extracurricular options. Additionally, we offer field trips at least once a semester and during our summer program. Parents and families are incorporated into our program as well, with parent meetings and workshops on topics such as local resources, ways to be economically aware, and nutritional choices for feeding a family.
