Heartland Hospice is in need of volunteers to visit patients. Volunteers can provide a releif visit for the caregivers of the patients. The mission of Heartland Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their caregivers. Description
Hospice is a concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families in the last phase of life. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on in a comfortable, pain-free manner so that their last months may be spent with dignity and quality. Hospice neither prolongs life nor hastens death. It provides its specialized knowledge of pain control, medical care, and psychological, emotional and spiritual support in a comprehensive manner, in an environment that includes family and friends.
