Back to School Backpacks is an annual back-to-school program that equips low-income students, children of YWCA clients, with the school supplies that they need to be successful at the start of the new school year. In 2017, the YWCA expects to provide backpacks to over 3,000 low-income children and teens in grades K-12. This event will have a direct impact on youth and clients.
Volunteers will assist in assembling backpacks for K-12 students and preparing them for delivery. Possible roles include:
Preparing, unpacking, and dividing school supplies
Refilling supplies as needed
Filling backpacks, assembly line style
Creating and applying labels for backpacks
We need 20 volunteers per shift, Monday and Tuesday! 8-12 and 12-4 @ 2301 S. Jackson St. Seattle - lower level (we were there for xmas)
Families with children and teens are welcome.
This event is a great opportunity for large groups to volunteer together.
