Position: Legal Intern
Description of Program: The Immigrant Connection at City Life Church is a nonprofit, public-interest immigration law office. Immigrant Connection provides direct immigration legal services to clients, focusing on family-based and humanitarian immigration law.

Legal Intern Responsibilities: Interns at the Immigrant Connection work under the supervision of Department of Justice accredited Legal Representatives. Responsibilities typically include assisting with interviewing and assessing clients, conducting educational seminars for clients and community members, researching and drafting legal documents, and supporting the attorneys with pending cases and projects.
Qualifications: Conversational Spanish ability is preferred. Prior experience working with immigrant populations is preferred.
Salary: Immigrant Connection legal internships are unpaid.

Located within the walls of City Life Church the Immigrant Connection strives to provide affordable legal services for the Grand Rapids community. City Life believes we are called to serve immigrants, "He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing." Deuteronomy 10:18. We want our services to ensure that every individual understands their basic human rights as well as their immigration legal options.
