Volunteer your time with Health Imperatives' Nantucket Family Planning clinic. At Health Imperatives we believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, confidential, and affordable health care.
We're looking for a volunteer to dedicate a few hours a week to help us:
- gather and compile resources of community and health services available in Nantucket
- translate current materials from English to Spanish, Portuguese, or Cape Verdean Creole
- support community outreach to spread the word about our services
- create informative and attention-grabbing social media posts specific to our Nantucket location
- drop off flyers and pamphlets of information to locations around the island.
About us: Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to nearly 30,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket. Our Nantucket Family Planning clinic offers birth control, pregnancy testing, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), rapid Hepatitis C and HIV testing, reproductive health exams including cancer screenings, and colposcopy exams at our nine reproductive health clinics. All services are offered confidentially to teens and adults.
We offer services to individuals of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, languages, and disabilities. Services are provided by licensed medical professionals and trained counseling staff in Spanish, Portuguese, and Cape Verdean Creole.

Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to nearly 30,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket.
Health Imperatives promotes healthy, safe, and vibrant families and communities. We support families and individuals who are struggling to cope with the devastating effects of poverty and violence, individuals who are worried about their health and safety, and parents who may be unprepared for the challenges of raising young children. Our health, nutrition, and counseling programs provide help, hope, and opportunity to local families and individuals.

- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
- Support for Adjudicated Youth
- LGBTQ Support, including BrAGLY
