We need two part-time volunteers to manage our online presence and social media. Work within our branding guidelines and maintain our social media accounts by creating posts, adding events, and providing recommendations to management about how to improve our reach.
DBSA San Jose provides emotional support, education, advocacy and outreach for people throughout Santa Clara county with Mood Disorders - primarily Depression and Bipolar disorder. In general, we attract very high-functioning people (i.e., well educated, high level employment). Currently DBSA San Jose runs several weekly support groups and has roughly 500 members. There is a total population of about 95,000 people DBSA can support in San Jose. That means we have a lot of work to do. One of our key initiatives is to provide a wider array of events throughout San Jose. Those include our very popular peer-led support groups. We would also like to provide workshops, Lectures and social events promoting wellness (e.g., hikes, bike rides, yoga, mindfulness, etc.).

Description
The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) is the leading peer-directed national organization focusing on the two most prevalent mental health conditions, depression and bipolar disorder, which affect more than 21 million Americans, account for 90% of the nation’s suicides every year, and cost $23 billion in lost workdays and other workplace losses.
DBSA’s peer-based, wellness-oriented, and empowering services and resources are available when people need them, where they need them, and how they need to receive them-online 24/7, in in-person support groups, in audio and video casts, or in printed materials distributed by DBSA, our chapters, and mental health care facilities throughout Santa Clara county and nationwide.
Through our extensive online and print resources and weekly support groups, DBSA reaches Santa
Clara county residents with in-person and online peer support; current, readily understandable information about depression and bipolar disorder; and empowering tools focused on an integrated approach to wellness.
