Interim Hospice has implemented an innovative model for serving Veterans at the end of life; the Veteran-to- Veteran Volunteer Pro- gram. The Vet-to-Vet Volunteer Pro- gram aims to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans.
Once paired with hospice patients who also have military experience, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with Vet- eran patients and their families.
Interim HealthCare Hospice provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms. The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings.
Care, Comfort, Choice. Provide care for the patient and the family, and provide quality of life when quantity of life is limited.
