DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn rotation stations of the school program.
Shadow docent and staff to learn teaching techniques for the stations.
Conduct practice tours with staff.
Teach school programs once approved.
Set up and break down school resource stations for tours (resource carts, pioneer room, courtroom).
After programs, support staff when needed on various projects.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Junior/Senior or higher status with major coursework toward a degree in Education, or History (with an emphasis on teaching), or Early Childhood Education.
Some experience with children in a formal or non ‐ formal teaching environment preferred.
Knowledge of Florida history a plus, but all information taught in the program will be provided.
Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.
Detail oriented, organized, dependable, and flexible. Able to work in a team atmosphere to adhere to time schedules to keep the programs running smoothly.

Description
The Orange County Regional History Center is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and a member of the American Alliance of Museums. The History Center includes a museum in a historic courthouse, the collection of the Historical Society of Central Florida, the Joseph L. Brechner Research Library, and Heritage Square park. It advances its mission through wide-ranging programs, permanent and traveling exhibits, and limited-run exhibitions from other prestigious institutions.
