About

The Omaha Home for Boys School is seeking volunteers to provide reading tutoring to our high school students.

Volunteers will follow a developed curriculum to help students build their reading skills. Having some reading teaching/tutoring experience would be helpful, however, the curriculum is already developed. Volunteers will follow the curriculum in the books to aid students.

Volunteers will be working with high school age males who are below average or in the lower extreme based on initial reading assessments.

HOURS

During the school year (August 2017 through May 2018), tutoring would be best during the afternoon, but morning hours could work as well. The opportunity may extend into summer school as well.

The time commitment is approximately three hours per week. Volunteers could tutor one-on-one with a single student or may tutor several students as a group.
