Mission Statement

The MusicianShip’s mission is to change lives by facilitating music lessons, experiences, and opportunities for people who need us most.

Description

The MusicianShip is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization that facilitates music lessons, experiences and opportunities. While our mission is not exclusive to any one particular group, we are focused on at-risk youth as they benefit most from positive outreach and music scholarship preparation. We are vetted and approved by the DC Public Schools as an official After-School service provider, allowing us to deliver free music instruction to students who may not otherwise have such opportunities.

Our instructors are comprised of accomplished musicians and music educators who serve as positive role-models for children. Unlike many other music schools, our students benefit from sessions led by nationally and internationally recognized performers, including Dennis Chambers, Orianthi and our own Gregory Grainger.

We create a healthy environment that fosters positive peer relationships, provides strong role models and builds self-esteem. Band performances instill in students a sense of pride and accomplishment, while contributing to the betterment of our communities. Your donations go further with The MusicianShip as our school is structured with minimal overhead to facilitate the most efficient and direct application of funds.
