Borden Memorial Forest sits at the top of Rist Canyon, with beautiful views of the Peaks in Rocky Mountain National Park and valleys below. It is a CSU acquired property that the CSFS Fort Collins District foresters and the Outreach Division have been working on for many years to not only practice sound forest management, which showed greatly when the High Park Fire swept through in 2012 by the way, but to carry out the late Tom Borden’s vision of creating an environmental learning space. One of the negative effects from the fire was the increase in Mullein, an invasive species. We have made great progress in keeping this weed from spreading, but our work is not done, and we need your help to continue slowing the spread. Please consider helping with this important work. Youth welcome accompanied by an adult.
