New Hope Oklahoma is a Tulsa-based nonprofit serving children 5-18 who have a parent in prison. Oklahoma incarcerates women at the highest per capita rate of any state in the nation, and ranks number 4 when it comes to the rate at which we incarcerate men. On any given day, approximately 27,000 Oklahoma children have a parent in prison, and the need for programs to serve these children is pressing, as these children are significantly more likely than their peers to be incarcerated themselves later on in life.

Our back-to-school party provides a safe space for families to feel supported and build community. It is also an opportunity for the kiddos that we serve to have fun, be kids, and get excited for the upcoming school year. We provide a meal, games, crafts, and new backpacks full of school supplies.

We need your help collecting supplies! Whether it is asking your friends and family for donations, organizing your church or group to do a donation drive, or simply ordering supplies yourself, every action will make a huge difference for children. We are collecting backpacks, two-pocket folders, pencil pouches, glue sticks, spiral notebooks, Kleenex, lined paper, scissors, colored pencils, markers, crayons, and pens.
