Native Plant Salvage

Native Plant Salvage could only function with the help of incredible volunteers! From hands-on learning about environmental restoration, to stormwater education and native plant ID classes, we bring a wide variety of opportunities to the community.

There is a lot of work behind the scenes at NPSF, and we are inviting volunteers to help support the behind-the-scenes work that makes all of the volunteer events, classes, and restoration efforts possible!

Please let us know if you are interested in being a Volunteer Office Assistant for the NPSF, and whenever we have pop-up need of volunteer backup, we will reach out to you first!

Mission Statement

Providing hands-on education to protect and conserve water resources and habitat from the South Sound Prairies to the shores of Puget Sound since 1994.

Description

The Native Plant Salvage Foundation is a non-profit organization that is guided by a volunteer board of directors, and supported by a small but mighty crew of volunteers, supporters, educators and community partners.

As our name implies, we salvage native plants during the winter months at sites that are soon to be developed. Our programs also expand far beyond our winter salvages. We operate a holding beds for salvaged plants and nursery where we offer propagation workshops regularly. Our work also includes restoration activities as well as education and outreach in the fields of Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS), school programs, plant identification classes, and sustainable landscaping.
