Prairie Paws volunteers help maintain healthy and sanitary conditions for animals in the shelter, and provide exercise, socialization and mental stimulation so the animals are more adoptable.
Upon completion of Shelter Essentials Training (cleaning duties) and an Animal Handling class, volunteers will be able to work directly with animals.
Volunteers are asked to commit to 8 hours of service per month, for at least six months. The minimum volunteer age is 14; those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian at all volunteer shifts.
