Looking to make a difference? Join the Real Change Movement!
What is Real Change?
Heart + Help = Happiness is the principle behind the Real Change Movement. The Real Change Movement is an initiative focused on raising awareness about the issues of homelessness and generating new funds to help make a difference. Its goal is to help provide homes for the homeless with the credit card and small change donations you make through our special donation meter program. As a collaborative effort involving local governments, nonprofit organizations, businesses and individuals, the campaign aims to harness the power of our community. Integrating online and social media channels, grassroots outreach, and public service announcements, the Real Change Movement seeks to touch hearts and minds with a long-term, positive approach to a common concern.
How Can You Help?
Flintridge Center is looking for a volunteer to join the Flintridge Center team. Help us develop the Real Change Movement. Contribute to Website content regarding homelessness and homeless solutions. Work with local hosts and sponsors to place new donation meters, and work with other communities that want to join the movement. Jaylene@flintridge.org 626/786-2341

Mission Statement
To break the cycle of poverty and violence through community planning, innovation and action.
Description
Flintridge has been working in the Northwest Pasadena/ West Altadena community for over 30 years through a continuum of prevention and intervention programs with the goal of improving educational achievement, breaking down barriers to employment, and steering community members away from the cycle of crime, violence and incarceration.
Two of our main services are our mentoring and after school programs, which altogether serve more than 150 youth, who are at risk of dropping out of school or joining gangs, per year and our Apprenticeship Preparation Program, which prepares and supports previously incarcerated and gang impacted individuals for careers in the construction trades. Moreover, as the City of Pasadena's official Institutional Home for Community and Gang Violence Prevention/Intervention Programs and Positive Youth Development, Flintridge collaborates with local community partners to continuously develop and strengthen programs in response to the specific needs of our community.
