Project Assistant/ Marketing Intern for CSA Program

The goal of CSA program is to make healthy food affordable for our local community. We strive to provide discounted prices for healthy food and memberships at an affordable cost to individuals with disabilities and low-income families. Because reliable transportation is often a barrier for so many disabled and under-served families, CSA's project objective is to remove the transportation barrier, and make it accessible by delivering products to local community.

Location: Fairfax/Oakton, VA

Responsibilities:

Coordinate with our driver, and manage on-time delivery

Set up weekly farm produce distribution

Represent program to the public in a professional manner which engages customers in a compelling way (sending emails with flyers inviting staff member of the organization to sign up for our program);

Outreach, interaction with customers, marketing

Work effectively with CSA members, wholesale customers, and the general public

Develop, coordinate and publish the weekly CSA Newsletter and run Healthy Diet Educational Blogs

Effectively and transparently communicate customers’ feedback to the supervisor

Manage Cash, Check and Credit Card transactions as well as Food Stamps (SNAP) payments

and maintain accurate records on produce quantities and sales

Manage customers database

Requirements

- Professional demeanor, excellent problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and inter-personal skills

- Ability to work with a diverse group of people, both independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.

- Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential.

- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.

- Team player who works well with others and isn’t afraid to ask questions.

- Detail-oriented, cares about how our communications will impact thousands of people.
