We invite teens (ages 13-19) from all over the country to pledge Nu Sigma Theta and help up do random acts of kindness benefitting everyday people. For more information on Nu Sigma Theta, please visit http://souldeevas.wixsite.com/neos
Current teen members live in California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Singapore and some of them have been with us since they began high school. We invite teens from all over the world to participate.
Current members have used this opportunity to earn up to 100 hours each year in community service required for their schools and activities have included: writing letters/sending cards to children in crisis; serving as pen pals to children in other countries; writing to members of our military; participating in online campaigns supporting other teens and charities; researching scholarship opportunities for their peers and more.
Each month, you receive a "service planner" that lists all of the activities that we have for the month. You participate in the ones that you are most interested in and you are awarded hours for completion of those activities. For this reason, you MUST have an active email address that you check frequently.
In addition to service projects, our students fellowship with each other via Facebook and also pen pal each other as a way to form social bonds.
To become a member, you must first pledge. For this, you will need a private Facebook page, even if you create one just for this opportunity. Pledging happens for two weeks. After this period, you can keep your FB page open if you’d like to continue fellowshipping with other members of our organization, or you can delete it. You can also use mom’s/dad’s Facebook page, which also allows them to see what you’re up to online. If you cannot create a Facebook page for this opportunity, you cannot participate in this opportunity.
You must also complete the mini-application found on our website. Follow this link for that application - http://souldeevas.wixsite.com/neos/adult-membership
After that, you become a member of Nu Sigma Theta and can stay for as long as you’d like. This opportunity does not require you to pay dues and recruitment through VolunteerMatch is for a limited time only. We only have eight slots available.
