Please visit the new page to apply.
The 33rd Annual Bike MS: Great Maine Getaway will be held August 12-13, 2017. The University of New England (UNE) located in Biddeford, ME is our host for the weekend. Our riders hit the roads at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and have a choice of routes ranging from 25 to 100 miles. Cyclists begin to arrive back to UNE around 10 a.m. Massages are the highlight of the ride for many of our cyclists. Massages are offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday only at UNE. Massages will be given outside (weather permitting) under the beautiful shade of trees where you will have access to water, ice, paper towels and snacks for you while you volunteer. We will have sign-up sheets available for cyclists upon arrival. Massages will be scheduled every 12 minutes. This will allow 10 minutes for a massage and two minutes for the therapists to rest and prepare for the next cyclists. You are asked to let the massage coordinator know when to block out times in order for you to take a break. We invite you to join us Saturday evening for the superhero themed awards ceremony and dinner.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can register at Bike MS: Great Maine Getaway. Stipend is available!

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The MS Bike Tour, MS Walk and MS Challenge Walk. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative, social work and organizational expertise.
