The Grocery Assistance Program, or GAP, is a service to shop and deliver groceries to our senior clients that are homebound or that have limited mobility and live in the city. The position that is needed is for shopping. You will be given a grocery list, then asked to shop for those items. (The clients write checks for groceries that are delivered by other volunteers on Wednesday morning). I need 1 or 2 people to come to Kroger (on Drake Avenue) every other Tuesday morning at 8 am (If you decide this is what you would like to do, I’ll give you the schedule.) You will be shopping for 2-4 clients during this time. The shopping takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. It’s great to do this with a friend.
