U.S. Dream Academy Philadelphia is seeking individuals interested in providing administrative support for an afterschool program, which serves local youth between the ages of 8 and 14 (grades 3 through 8). Ideal candidates will be passionate about working with young people (particularly high-risk, underserved youth). Volunteers will assist with the management of paperwork, homework support, arts and crafts activities, distribution of snacks to students, and other operational support.
Volunteers will be present at the site location G.W. Childs Elementary School in South Philadelphia during regular program hours. The afterschool program operates each weekday from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., and volunteers may select the days and times of their choice to attend.
The role is available September through June, and volunteers may serve for the duration of the entire school year or for a shorter period. A reference check is mandatory, along with the completion of both a Pinkerton Release and FBI Fingerprinting. Previous experience is not required, as participants will receive thorough and ongoing training.
