Are you an outgoing people person? Or do you love history and enjoy talking about it? Are you the type of person that likes to go the extra mile to provide superior customer service? If so, the Lacey Museum has the opportunity for you!
Duties:
The Lacey Museum is looking for enthusiastic gallery hosts that can efficiently and effectively adapt to a variety of people, interests, and situations. Gallery hosts are an important and valued resource at the Lacey Museum. Our hosts play a key role in fulfilling the Museum’s mission to serving the greater Lacey community. They are trained to facilitate formal and impromptu tours of the Lacey Museum and its exhibits. They are among the first, and are often the only, direct contact visitors have with the Museum and the history of Lacey.
Our visitation can really vary, so volunteers should be prepared for periods of busy interaction and periods of slow lulls. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
-Excellent communication skills
-Must work and communicate effectively with diverse groups of children, adults, staff and other volunteers
-Due to the training involved, we ask that volunteers commit to at least 6 months of volunteering.
Schedule:
11am-3pm on Thursdays
AND/OR
11am-3pm on Fridays
COVID-19: The museum follows City of Lacey policy. All staff and volunteers are required to wear a mask and follow protocols for COVID exposures.

Description
Volunteers are needed to help the museum pull off this family friendly event. We need parking attendants, activity station assistants, help with set-up and take-down and more!
This super fun event includes ice cream service, a historic fire truck, old timey musical acts, museum gallery hosts, the Ezra Meeker covered wagon, historic games, kids crafts, coloring and historic personalities.
