ORGANIZATION: Arizona Museum of Natural History

Interested in Natural History, Dinosaurs, Ancient Cultures, Geology or just enjoy sharing knowledge? Gallery Interpreters are the voice of our education team. Gallery Interpreters interface with our visitors in the museum. Gallery Interpreters provide exceptional customer service in the various museum galleries. Current opportunities include Southwest Gallery, Cultures of the Ancient Americas, Dino Hall, Cretaceous Seas, Geology, and Human Origins.

TIME COMMITMENT: Minimum of 3 hours 2-4 times per month, as scheduled on weekdays or weekends.

PURPOSE: To provide visitors with a delightful, educational museum experience through interesting and accurate information about the museum’s exhibitions. Gallery Interpreters will help facilitate an inquiry-based interaction with museum visitors and our exhibits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and aid the public, learn and apply interpretive techniques relating to current exhibits, be responsible for any objects or artifacts used in interpreting.

  • 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM MST - Spots available: 7
    Tuesday - Saturday
  • 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM MST - Spots available: 7
    Sundays
  • 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM MST - Spots available: 5
    Tuesday-Saturday

Description

In the spring of 1977, the City of Mesa opened the Mesa Museum of Archeology and History, later renamed Mesa Southwest Museum. In 2007 the Mesa Southwest Museum was renamed Arizona Museum of Natural History. It was created for the enjoyment of Mesa residents and visitors as part of the City of Mesa's continuing commitment to provide educational, cultural and recreational opportunities.
