We are seeking professionals from all industries to be part of the City Tutors mentorship program. As a mentor, you would be connected to one, or more City Tutor, who provides tutoring support to programs across Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. Mentors help tutors with the following: career exploration/discovery, professional etiquette expectations, job/internship search strategies, and preparation for professional/academic opportunities. Mentors also coordinate with the on-campus professional development team.

This is a 4-6 months commitment. At a minimum mentors are required to:

  • meet with the tutor at least once every 8 weeks
  • have a phone or virtual conference every 4 weeks

City Tutors is a volunteer tutoring organization that leverages the incredible academic talent and enthusiasm to serve within the tri-state area to enhance and expand academic support for programs on CUNY campuses and in the surrounding communities in an effort to support increasing retention and graduation of New York City students across all academic levels.

We provide tutoring support to the following spaces:

CCNY College Now

CCNY Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership

CCNY Black Male Initative

CCNY Biology Department

CCNY English Department

CCNY Urban Scholars

CCNY Continuing Professional Studies Department

Youth Action Youth Build

Sugar Hill Communities

Childrens Aid Society

Community Health Academy High School

New Partners Include: Harlem RBI, City Tech's Adult Education Program, South Bronx Charter
