Stamford Academy serves about 150 high school students who have been unsuccessful in the traditional school model. The ratio of students with IEPs is about twice the rate of Stamford Public Schools, yet Stamford is able to provide only one SPED teacher. Do you have a couple of hours to spare once a week during the school year to help with one-on-one tutoring? Hours are flexible but they are during the school day. To meet our kids is to love them. They are wary and giving; have big dreams and struggle to stay on task; are talented and funny; and may have not had dinner the night before. If you'd like to know more, please contact me.
