There With Care of the Bay Area provides a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by social workers from Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald house in Palo Alto, as well as UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.
Taking things off their plate and giving families more time to be with their children is at the heart of our work and it happens through the kindness of others who ease their burdens. With the help of our generous community, we are able to be there for the families in ways that reduce the daily stresses that are overwhelming them. One of the ways to help is to make "Easy Meal Care Bags" through your donated items at home and deliver them to our Redwood City warehouse. These substantial snack kits allow parents to stay bedside with their sick child.
It's simple to put together a care kit and any age can help. The following is a suggested list of items to put inside any bag of your choice:
Easy Meal Care Bag - List of your Donated Items
¨ (4) Vitamin water/Gatorade/sports drinks
¨ (2) soups with pull open tops like Campbell's Chunky soup
¨ (2) single serving microwaveable mac n cheese
¨ (2) oatmeal bowls (no dish required or just add water) or cereal boxes
¨ (2) small Chex mix bags or salty snack/chips
¨ (4) energy bars/ granola bars
¨ (2) small cookie packs
¨ (2) small packs of applesauce/fruit squeeze/ fruit cups
¨ (1) life savers or gum
*Please include a card with positive words such as "joy, happiness, love"
