Create Purpose operates an Urban Agriculture Program at a Tijuana orpahange. We are looking for able bodies to help with the maintenance of the garden. You will be preparing the soil, setting up light irrigation systems, cleaning, weeding and other manual labor tasks.

We use the garden as a classroom for a very holistic program for abandoned children. Your help will allow us to focus more of our attention on the children and less on the tasks needed to maintain the space.

Mission Statement

In order to develop the academic, psychological, and vocational skills of abandoned children living in orphanages, and measure their results with valid academic, psychological, and behavioral metrics, Create Purpose is embarking on a long term mission to scale our Programs to orphanages around the world with a plan to implement after school programs 5 days/week to 5 orphanages in 2021 and 10 orphanages in 2022, serving 500 children in the Baja California region.

Description

Abandoned children struggle behaviorally and psychologically and lag behind normative academic benchmarks. As these children transition into adulthood, their paths often result in the continuation of the cycle of poverty. For the approximately 30,000 living in orphanages or shelters in Mexico, the struggle takes a new shape. That’s why Create Purpose exists. Our Solution: Bridge the educational gaps that exist for abandoned children and focus on teaching life skills in a way that leads children out of poverty so they can pursue their purpose. How? Provide the proven methodology of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) through Project Based Learning within Tijuana orphanages. This transformative solution could not be otherwise provided by orphanage staff.
