Throughout the year, non-profits within the Los Alamos Community request volunteers from the Los Alamos Volunteer Association (LAVA) to help with special events for their respective organizations. These include pancake breakfasts at the Posse Lodge, race events, county fair volunteers, blood drives, fundraising events and more! Please consider volunteering for some of these events!

Mission Statement
The mission of the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) is to provide service, fellowship, instruction and advocacy for retirees and senior citizens. The senior activity sites are places where seniors will learn, share meals, socialize, have fun and support each other as they interact with a respectful and service oriented staff.
Description
Los Alamos Volunteer Association (LAVA) is the volunteer arm of the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization. LAVA matches senior volunteers with non-profits in Los Alamos County and tracks volunteer hours for these volunteers. Additionally, LAVA is involved in a state funded pilot program to promote intergenerational volunteerism. As a result, LAVA is signing up volunteers of all ages.
