No One Left Behind serves Afghan and Iraqi translators who worked for the US military and who have been threatened for their service. We were founded by Army Captain Matt Zeller, who is only alive today because his Afghan translator directly saved his life in combat. It took Matt years to advocate to Congress and the State Department for his interpreter to receive his visa. Through this process, Matt learned how much persistence is required for a veteran to ensure that his interpreter's case progresses normally.
No One Left Behind is committed to helping teach and mentoring veterans how to advocate for their interpreters to receive their visas. We are seeking leadership volunteers who can (with training) mentor veterans on how to advocate for their visas (especially in requesting Congressional inquiries and communicating with the media.)
Operation Lost in Translation Leads will divide and structure our mentorship and advocacy efforts of contacting Congressmen, responding to and mentoring veterans, responding to linguists seeking to reconnect with their veteran colleagues, and recruiting and managing volunteers. We are aggressively expanding our Operation Lost in Translation team but need volunteer leads who wish to take a very active role.

Mission Statement
No One Left Behind helps Afghan and Iraqi translators gain their U.S. Special Immigration Visas and ensures that they are properly resettled in America. When our Afghan and Iraqi allies resettle in the US, they usually come with nothing more than the clothes on their back and whatever they can fit into one suitcase. We feel that given their profound service to our nation's military while at war, these interpreters deserve better than years of waiting on seldom delivered visas and almost no support in resettling in America.
Description
We help with immigration services to interpreters and translators who are being denied visas due to the bureaucratic red tape. We provide furnished apartments, modest financial support to help cover the weeks it can take before their social service benefits (food, medical, etc.) begin, and employment placement assistance. We also pair up newly arrived refugees with other Iraqis and Afghans who have successfully immigrated to the US -- to help smooth the transition.
