Overview: The Irish International Immigrant Center is seeking a volunteer photographer to take photos of IIIC volunteers and staff in action (working with clients, teaching classes, interacting in the office, etc.) to use in various print and social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, newsletters, end of year report, etc.). The photographer will of course be given credit for all photos.
This position offers a wonderful opportunity for someone with skills and a background in photography who is interested in immigration and social justice to become part of a team of people dedicated to helping newcomers to this country. This is a chance to make a difference in the lives of immigrants and to gain an appreciation for diverse cultures while being part of an organization strongly rooted in its Irish culture.
Qualifications:
A degree/work experience as a photographer is not required, but should be able to take photos of a professional standard
Needs own camera
Able to work comfortably with a diverse group
A commitment to the overall mission and values of the IIIC
Time commitment: flexible, some volunteers work during the day and some work in the evening. It would be best if the photographer could come in a couple different times in order to get photos of as many volunteers as possible.
Time frame: we are hoping to have a number of photos done by mid-July for our website so we are looking for someone who is available now. But we would love if the volunteer was interested in continuing to assist us on an 'as needed’ basis - we would work around your schedule and availability.
