Pittsburgh St. Jude Gala

The Pittsburgh office of ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is excited to invite engaged and committed individuals to join the Pittsburgh St. Jude Gala planning Committee. The annual Pittsburgh St. Jude Gala will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at the Omni William Penn Hotel. The event invites supporters of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to come together for an evening of hope and celebration as we support the kids of St. Jude

The Pittsburgh St. Jude Gala planning committee is comprised of members of the Pittsburgh community from various sectors. The group of volunteers use their skills to promote the event by seeking event sponsorship, encouraging ticket sales, soliciting auction items, and stewarding the St. Jude brand by advocating for the mission of the organization--finding cures and saving children.

Committee members devote an average of 3-4 hours per month, including one monthly meeting as a group. The committee has the decision making power to put a local spin on this national (and global) endeavor--to ensure that no child shall die in the dawn of life. The Pittsburgh St. Jude Gala planning Committee is supported by a local ALSAC/St. Jude representative.

If interested in learning more about how to get involved with these efforts, contact Caitlin O'Brien-Rice at caitlin.obrien-rice@stjude.org or 412-535-6119.

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

Description

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.
