2017 English Ivy Removal - Battery Kemble Park - 7.8.17

Join Rock Creek Conservancy and the National Park Service as we remove invasive English ivy from Battery Kemble Park Tools, gloves, bags, and training will be provided at each site, and SSL hours can be earned.

Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help remove invasive English ivy from the trees and the ground in the Battery Kemble section of Rock Creek Park.

When: Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Where: Volunteers will meet at the bottom of the Battery Kemble Park parking lot. The entrance to the lot is off of Chain Bridge Rd NW (approx 2832 Chain Bridge Rd). More specific directions will be shared with all signups.

What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. Since we will be working with vines, long pants and sleeves are required to prevent contact with poison ivy. We also encourage volunteers to wear a hat.

What to Bring: Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you have them. Students can earn SSL hours, but please bring needed forms.
